Turtles (6 weeks to 2 years)
Children aged 6 weeks to 2 years are in the Turtles group. The group leaders follow each child’s routine for eating, sleeping, nappy changing, active and quiet play.
Educators make themselves available as needed throughout the day ensuring each baby feels loved and secure.
The Centre provides a safe and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity and exploration. Language is made meaningful through many varied interactions with the main educator and others. Staff use “Auslan” signs to aid communication with the very young children.
The babies are allowed time to be themselves as they watch, listen and explore using all their senses. Their group leader is there with them to share the joy of new discoveries while revisiting experiences, consolidating their learning and developing new skills. Parent input is also encouraged to ensure the needs and interests of each individual child are understood.
